Everything you need to know to participate!

Before auditioning, we ask that you and your child be aware of the rehearsal time and parental involvement commitment, which are outlined below.

  • All Pelham fifth and sixth graders are invited to audition for PCT’s 2025 production of Grease : School Edition.

  • For the audition you’ll need to bring your PCT Audition Form with a Photo attached.

    At the audition, each child will be given a script and asked to read a few lines from it. The directors will also ask each child to sing a few lines from a favorite song (1 minute at most). If your child has sheet music for the auditions, please bring it. If not, your child will sing acapella. All parents/guardians will receive a follow-up email notifying them of audition results within 2 weeks of the audition. Since this is a one-cast production with space constraints, we are sometimes unable to cast all audition participants.

    Casting decisions are entirely made by professional Directors that are not parents of any children auditioning for the show.  There are no PCT Producers or PCT Board Members that are involved in any portion of the audition process.  Parents of children auditioning for the show are also not allowed to be present in the room during auditions.  Parents can drop off their children at Prospect or wait in the Hallway at Prospect during the audition process.

  • Beginning in February, rehearsals will take place at Prospect Hill School Auditorium, typically from 4-6pm Monday-Thursday, and Friday if needed. They will go from February 24th-May 1st. As we get closer to the performance date, extra time will be added as needed. Attendance for these rehearsals is mandatory. Each actor’s rehearsal schedule is different depending on their role in the production. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, and if continued the child will be removed from the play. No food, drinks, soda, candy, or chewing gum is allowed in the auditorium.

    Depending on your role, rehearsals could be once a week, or as often as four times a week. When we are 2 weeks away from the show date, rehearsals will increase and all children must attend. We do not ask for conflicts upfront due to the number of children involved. When your child is called they are expected to attend rehearsal. It impacts the entire cast when people are absent.

  • If your child is given a role in this year’s production, we count on your enthusiastic support along with your active participation. We require that parents/guardians volunteer on one of our committees— a list of those will be available on our website at the time of registration. In addition, all parents/guardians will be asked to chaperone at least twice (but possibly more often) during rehearsals. Chaperones are essential for the safety of the children.

  • There will be a registration fee of $275 if your child is accepted. The fee also includes a headshot, and a t-shirt.

  • Tickets go on sale about 3 weeks before the show. Tickets are made available to families with children in the show first, before being open to the public. When public ticket sales are open, there will be a link on the homepage.
